Loss of productivity?….Give me a bloody break

L

I’ve withheld my tongue for far too long when it came to my country’s politics. Despite the amount of mudslinging and backbitting, I’ve tried my very best not to castigate these hopeless twits. But this one article really got me riled up:

Read here

“I don’t see why a public holiday is needed as the by-election is exclusively for the Permatang Pauh constituency. This (declaration) must have been a political decision,” he said during a speech at a meet-the-people session in Mengkuang Titi, Penanti.

If the entire day was a holiday, he said, the state would face huge losses in terms of productivity.

Najib said the public and private sectors could instead allocate an hour or two for their employees to come out and vote.

He added that the matter was under the state’s purview and the federal government could not override the decision.

You want to talk about 1 DAY of loss productivity? Try checking up on GLC employees during the Ramadan month!! That’s loss of productivity for you right there….for ONE FREAKING MONTH!!!!

1 DAY isn’t gonna kill the Penang economy!

Seriously politicians… you don’t have any better excuses than that??? Why not you try to see whether 1-2 hours is enough to go all the way to polling booth in heavy traffic jam, cast your vote, and drive all the way back…in HEAVY TRAFFIC JAM!

And since when did you ever care about Penang’s productivity, it’s your cabinet afterall that scrapped alot of developmental plans for my state, just cause you lost control to the opposition! Sheesh! And you have the audacity to talk about productivity!

It’s things like giving the people of penang a 1 day state holiday which wins the hears of people; it shows that the government cares, that the government is giving everyone a fair chance for everyone to really focus on excerising their rights as Malaysian citizens…

It’s comments like this which causes UNNECESSARY hoohaahs in the country!
