I had always toyed with the idea of exploring the other side of the Operating System realm. Not too say I’ve gotten bored with Windows XP or something, but I’ve always wondered what other operating systems are out there.
How do they work? Is it different from using the typical Windows XP? How does it feel like?
Questions questions questions… well today I got to say, I finally took that bold step. Out of some random act of encouragement by some total hardcore Ubuntu-Linux strangers, I finally decided to install Ubuntu on my laptop. No I didn’t have to wipe out my hard drive or any sort, in fact I’m running my Thinkpad on 2 OSes, of course not simultaneously (jeez I wonder if that’s possible?)
I gotta say I’m loving every minute of it. I’ve always heard geekies and techies talk about how amazing Linux is/was till it almost felt like an “all-exclusive-Linux-users-only” club. Hehe, now I can somewhat understand their sentiments…
It’s really an adeventure I gotta say, delving into “uncharted (for me that is!) territory” and exploring new stuff, it’s always been a passion in me whenever it comes to techy stuff.
All I can say is thank goodness we have the world wide web and thank goodness there was no problem with the network connectivity and my Ubuntu installation, otherwise you really wouldn’t have seen this post in the first place 😉
