…and He gave us Hope

&

Christmas is primarily about one person : Jesus Christ. It’s not about the christmas gifts, it’s not about the season greetings, it’s not about long breaks, its not even about spending time with family and loved ones. In it’s truest form, Christmas is about our the opening chapter of our redemption plan. Through Jesus Christ we would be saved, through Jesus Christ we would be able to once again call God our Father ; through Jesus Christ God would now give us a face, a person, someone tangible, that we can hold on to ; that we can look up to and follow. God in essence, gave us himself, by giving us Jesus Christ ; God comes down to us in the form of a baby, so that we may be able to reach out to him as babes ourselves – dependent and helpless.

But more importantly, more important that anything else, God gave us Hope. In Jesus Christ, there is Hope. In Jesus Christ, we need not fear of the unknown anymore, we need not worry, for the Word Incarnate told us not to worry any more because He has come. He is our Hope, our eternal joy, in Him, we can place our hope, trust, confidence and joy. In Him, all things will be made perfect. In Him we can surrender and let Him comfort us. In Him, we have found our Hope.

So let’s not forget this great gift of hope, which we have so often forgotten in the thick of things. Lets not try and make Christmas our own feel-good festive season. Let us remember what God has given us, which more than just Himself; He has given us Hope, and it’s for that reason, we can joyfully celebrate and to adore the babe. For in that babe, lies our salvation and our eternal joy. In a world way everything is so gloomy and dark, God shines and speaks through us in this blessed and holy day.

Blessed Christmas to you.
