My Life in the Apple Ecosystem

M

Yes alot has happened and I shouldn’t use the first post of the year to talk about stuff. But indulge me for abit as it’s been awhile since I have talked about any kind of stuff.

And so today as I was waiting to see the doctor, yes I am typing this in the doctor’s office I couldn’t help but be envious of the other patient beside me who was sporting a foldable phone, wasn’t sure what model it was but it was a foldie none the less! The impulse urge to consider changing my phone suddenly rushed within me. After all this year would mark two years since I started using my iPhone 13. Surely an upgrade is warranted right? Then I started to wonder why didn’t apple create any foldable phones yet?? Like seriously what were they waiting for!

Then it dawned on me – actually I don’t need a foldable phone since I already have the iPad mini. Yes the mini 6 is the right portable size for a tablet. It’s larger than my phone but not portably unwieldy like a full fledged 10 plus inch tablet. It’s the workaround to my foldable desires.

Then it just got me thinking about my apple ecosystem. I have actually quite alot of apple stuff on me. From my AirPods 3 to my Apple Watch, my iPhone 13 as a primary device to my daily mini 6 and the Apple Pencil as well my other two “back up” devices – the iPad Air 2 and the iPhone SE 1st gen! And also not to forget my MacBook Air and my Apple TV! That’s a basket full of apples! Toss in an air-tag which I don’t have and I would have a perfect 10!

And then I realised I am happy with apple. It’s why I went with them 2 years back in the first place- their almost flawless ecosystem is still unrivalled and sure iPhone 13 is a boring candy bar phone but it’s solid and gets the job done! The widgets are beautifully designed and the integration is second to none! No android OS can ever beat it in my opinion especially when it comes to the day to day work in which you need a stable solid OS that is tightly coupled and optimised for its hardware.

So yeah no foldie for me.
